Two years ago Bryan, Frankie, and I were looking to add another dog to our mix.  Our search took us to the South Dakota border, where a gorgeous Golden was being fostered.  Before we hardly introduced ourselves, we knew we had found our newest family member.  To us, she was- and is- perfect.

Rasta owes a lot to RAGOM.  They took her in when she was 11 months old and a real handful.  Rasta is deaf, and at the time, there was no way to communicate with her. She had a LOT of energy, but very few manners.  Her patient Foster taught her some hand signs and helped her learn basic skills.  Before long, she was adopted.

She lived with her family for a couple years, but when their son developed allergies, they could no longer keep her.  RAGOM's philosophy is "Once a RAGOM dog, always a RAGOM dog" -- meaning they are there for their dogs no matter what.  They welcomed her back into their care as they searched for a new home for her.

Rasta was a quite plump at this point (weighing nearly double what she should), so her new Foster made sure she got plenty of exercise.  She kept busy playing with his other dogs and going for walks.  Her Foster discovered she loved to chew (does she ever!), and made sure she had lots of stuffed toys to tear apart.  She got caught up on her veterinary needs, and got exactly the kind of love and care that you wish every dog could have.  RAGOM made sure she was as comfortable as possible until she found a family.

Luckily for us, the rest is history.  Rasta came into our lives, bringing with her great big spirit, loads of energy, and winning personality.  We couldn't imagine life without her.  We're so glad RAGOM was there for her when she needed them most.

This year, RAGOM will take in over 400 dogs. Your support is needed to help provide the veterinary care, training and fostering each dog requires before finding his or her adoptive family.

Donate today to support this great organization. Then join us at Goldzilla to meet the many dogs your donations help. Together, we will make many Goldens smile!
