This year's 1.2 mile walk to raise money for Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota (RAGOM) is going to be better than ever. Why? Because our two RAGOM adopted dogs, Mikko (formerly Gunner 14-174) and Maija (formerly Claire 13-399), will be walking with us too!
Maija's story and Mikko's story epitomizes what RAGOM does for a dog in need. Maija and Mikko each lost their way and each was found by a Good Samaritan who brought them to the local animal shelter. The shelters called on RAGOM to help re-home each of them. Maija was found running down a busy highway in South Dakota. Mikko, "Mik", was found wondering in a Grand Rapids swamp. When found, both dogs were terrified, emaciated, starving, covered in ticks (Mick even had leeches under his fur), and both were suffering from Lyme disease!
With RAGOM's help, these two dogs found their way to us. Now both Maija and Mikko are healthy, happy and loved. We enthusiastically support RAGOM and we hope that you will support RAGOM too, with a donation. Goldzilla takes place on 9/14/2014 at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton, MN.
We just learned that due to a data entry problem, the names of cash donators have not been added to our fundraising page. RAGOM is working on it. Goldzilla is RAGOM's annual Fun Fair and Walk for Rescue. Funds raised at this event supports our mission of rescuing and rehoming Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes of all ages. This year, RAGOM will take in over 400 dogs. Your support is needed to help provide the veterinary care, training and fostering each dog requires before finding his or her adoptive family.
