My Mollie meant everything to me. She rescued me when my mind wasn't doing so well. When she passed I donated to Retrieve of Golden of Minnesota (RAGOM) in her memory. I continued learning more about this special charity who possesses the most compassionate volunteers who go to extraordinary lengths to find forever homes for Golden Retrievers. I became so impressed with the dedication and love from all the volunteers, fosters, adopters, and goldens that I became a board member so I could help them even more.

Here is an exerpt from my Mollie story...

Traveling on a rainy spring night in Fairfax County, Virginia, I journeyed to find the one thing I had wanted since I was a little girl, a golden retriever. When I walked into the living room, I immediately saw this beautiful golden retriever puppy standing on her haunches with her paws on top of the enclosed pen. While her four brothers were wrestling around, she stood out as if she was all by herself. Just like that day -- throughout her whole life -- Mollie would garner attention. 

At eight weeks, Mollie’s brown, almond-sized eyes on her lovely cherub face drew everyone to her. Oh, and those big floppy ears on the little blonde puppy body were so adorable. Without a blink of an eye, I knew we were meant for each other. I picked her up and held her, and the chemistry and connection were stronger than I could have ever imagined. This was the puppy for me. She was now my everything. This cuddly dog who exuded immediate personality and splendor would be my constant companion, dearest loved one, and my baby for the next 12 years. I loved her with all of my heart.
