Hi again friends and family. Rosemary and I are in the midst of our 13th year of retirement, our 13th year of living full-time at the lake, and our 13th year of volunteering and fostering dogs for RAGOM (Retrieve a Golden of the Midwest). We've loved every minute and hope to have many more years to enjoy this wonderful life!
Each year we've come to you to ask if you can spare any money to help us to keep supporting RAGOM and our wonderful dogs. Unfortunately each year the dogs keep coming into us - dogs from breeders, dogs with medical issues, strays, dogs taken from bad home environments, and also dogs from loving families, who for one reason or another, can no longer keep them. Year after year RAGOM has been able to help hundreds of these beautiful animals get a fresh start in life. Your generous donations help us to pay the medical bills, food costs, and all of the other things these dogs need.
We've attached one of our favorite pictures from our little part of the rescue world. The dog on the right is Tank, a serious trained hunting dog (pheasants, ducks, and geese) who was surrendered at 9 years old. We were his fosters and fell in love with him (we were foster failures). Tank went to the Rainbow Bridge at age 14+ and we still miss him like crazy. The big girl sitting up on the left is Madison. Maddie was a retired breeder girl who was surrendered by her breeder owner when she became too old to breed successfully. She had a huge personality and "ruled the roost". She was adopted by a wonderful family and just passed away this past year. We think of her often. The little guy in the middle is Sooner. We adopted him from RAGOM six years ago. Sooner came from a hoarding situation in Oklahoma. Sooner has his quirks but he remains our sweet boy to this day.
Dogs come to RAGOM from so many different situations and circumstances. We've been blessed to be able to do our small part to change the lives of a number of them. If you can, please help us to continue doing this work. Thanks - Mark and Rosemary
Goldzilla—RAGOM's annual Fun Fair and Walk for Rescue—supports our mission of rescuing and rehoming Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes in need. Your donation will provide RAGOM dogs with veterinary and foster care on their way to finding adoptive homes. So donate today and join us at Goldzilla to meet the many dogs you help!
Prefer to donate by check? Enter the name of the person you're pledging in the memo line and mail to: RAGOM, 5800 Baker Road, Suite 120, Minnetonka, MN 55345. NOTE: For pledges to be reflected on a walker's fundraising page, checks must be received by Thursday, September 11.
